Hello everyone. While visits to the site are still pretty strong, participation has slowed to a crawl, and many of my veterans no longer take part. I am the first to admit that issues in Taylor County have subsided substantially and maybe that is why we don’t have much to talk about, I don’t know. I created this site several years ago for the citizens of Taylor County to let their voices be heard in a public setting, and I feel that it made a difference here and that is what I wanted.
Operating this site has costs, some monetary(very minimal), but mostly time. Please understand that has never been a problem and never will be a problem, but I would like your advice. Do you wish for this site to stay up and working for future issues that may arise or do you think it has served its purpose? I welcome all thoughts and I will make my decision on the sites future based on your responses, or lack of. You can post them here or email me. Regardless, I will do nothing until this election year is over.

I like the blog, fact is most of what is said here is also what is said by many around town. It saves me gas by not having to go the the various coffee klatches, barber shops, and other places where folks sit and talk about the fiascos of our “leaders”, their cronys and assorted coat-tail riders.

Please keet the site up and running. But return the posing public to return to open debates with Anaymous protection.. Otherwise , the County Administrator or Court House Officer will fire them, or Southerland will reposs their furniture, or the othe Southerland will have their name removed from theElections list as last time.. Most of all that the TCSD hit team will, give them tickets, raid their home or cause each Anymous person posting to be harrassed and submitted hardship during these hard times.
You will have to see and agree, when you started ,screening, the posts, delaying your approval for 2 or 3 days, the readers and posters stopped , coming to your site.
( I am only offering a help to your situation, for to belittle your actions)
I feel everyone needs a place to vent their frustrations and question our elected officers without fear of Property Taxes being raised ( RATLIFF’S TAX SQUAD / THE WEEKEND DOPE SMOKERS AND DRUNKS) WILL RAISE YOUR RATES, IF YOU QUESTION HIM OR HIS MORALS,!! I SAW IT HAPPY TO MY UNCLE AND AUNT LAST TAX BILL) or your TAX bill sold early and without notice, just ask Kyle, and we will be loosing what we have worked Hard for without any help from the LAW or other legal community….
I suggest you return free speach / posting to the site ( without vulgar langage or bad stuff) and allow your readers and posters to make others aware of the unjust in the courthouse and the school houses.

Thanks for your input. First, let me say that everyone can and always has been able to post anonymously and I also get notification when someone posts a comment and it is reviewed and approved daily. I went back to moderating comments from people that were not registered is because under this new format, I got more spam than usual and am working on a filter. I encourage people to register and log-in so that they can use the same name every time and without moderation all while still being anonymous. No one has to use their real names if they register, but registering is not a requirement
to post. Also, if they register and log-in and post as such, I can promote them to being able to post topics, etc, as they prove themselves.
Once I get the spam filter worked out, I will remove moderation of most comments, but in the meantime, I will still allow most all comments without editing and it has been proven that this type of discussions are protected under freedom of speech and I have always listened to people that bring negative or derogatory comments to my attention and handle them appropriately, so being protected from others comments is not a concern of mine.
Again, I thank you for your input and will take all under consideration.

I also just changed a few settings to try and remove some of the moderation without jeopardizing holding possible spam comments until I get filter worked out.

wow its just people like u that has driven people from posting… boohoo if i put my name someone will raise my taxes, someone will take my furniture, someone will get fired, or someone will take me off the election roll.. u say u want to bring back the post with bad language or “bad stuff”, isnt that exactually what u just posted… did u even read what u wrote to make sure it didnt sound like grade A garbage.. what u are saying doesnt even make sense… please get a life..
